Sean Sonego has been graced with the honor of being asked to perform at the Annual St. Valentines Day Hair Massacure!! Marking it’s 10th Anniversary, the Hair Massacure is one of Edmonton’s biggest charity initiatives.
Come out a show your support for a fantastic cause on Feb. 3rd, 2012 @ the West Edmonton Mall Ice Palace. Sean will be performing between 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm.
QUICK FACTS ABOUT THE HAIR MASSACURE
•2012 will be Hair Massacure’s 10th anniversary year.
•It will also be the third Red Deer Hair Massacure.
•Since 2003, $4,788,200 has been raised by the Hair Massacure for Edmonton and Northern Alberta.
•The event was inspired by Kali MacDonald, youngest daughter of the MacDonald family. Kali was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at age 2. Kali has been in remission for 6 years. Visit our history page for more information about the origins of the event.

•Over 400 volunteers and 25 captains support the Hair Massacure.
•Average amount of pledges per participant in 2011 was $643. Participants and fundraisers raising over $500 received a Kali Bear.
•Hair Massacure at the Mall is the only place in the world to get a red heart shaped Dilly Bar, donated by St. Alberta Dairy Queen.
•23 schools and 4 hockey teams registered with the 2011 Hair Massacure.
•Ongoing entertainment included local celebrities and special appearances with the Premier, members of the Edmonton Eskimos, Edmonton Oilers, Edmonton Police Service, and Ronald McDonald. Also on hand to shave their heads were CCMA winner Gord Bamford, and members of the Spruce Grove Fire Services.
•Massacure mascots include the Kali Bear and F.R.E.D – Family Run Event Dog, (our pink standard poodle).
•Funds raised are split between the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Northern Alberta, and Ronald McDonald Foundation of Northern Alberta.
•The event reaches all ages and professions. Seniors, toddlers, teenagers, businessmen, teachers, construction workers, teams, and families.
•Many young cancer survivors shave their heads (after they’ve experienced hairloss – WOW!)
